Candace Valenzuela has been a lifelong Texan. As a former educator and mom, she has the work ethic and grit it takes to make effective change in Washington. She shares our UAW values, and isn’t afraid to stand up for hardworking Texas families.
WHY VOTE VALENZUELA FOR CONGRESS?
SHE’LL FIGHT FOR HEALTH CARE ACCESSIBILITY
Candace Valenzuela has experienced firsthand how unaffordable health care negatively impacts families. Chronic back pain from a car accident put her into medical debt as she tried to keep up with her premiums, deductibles, cost of care and prescriptions. She will fight to ensure this common story is no longer common by advocating for health care reform. She has a plan to expand the Affordable Care Act, expand Medicaid, and lower the cost of prescription drugs so that all Americans can get the coverage and care they need, no matter their situation.
SHE’S SUPPORTING HER COMMUNITY DURING COVID-19
As her community has been gravely impacted by COVID-19, Candace has stood up to support them. She has compiled comprehensive resources on her website to ensure Texans have access to the resources and services they need. She also has a plan to fight the virus in Congress. She’ll advocate to ensure testing is free and available in her community, medical care for the virus doesn’t leave families bankrupt, and public health is transformed to better prepare our nation for future outbreaks and diseases.
SHE’LL PROTECT MEDICARE AND SOCIAL SECURITY
Candace is committed to protecting the Medicare and Social Security benefits promised to retired seniors. She will fight against any attempt to cut or privatize these programs. She understands that these benefits give seniors the support they need to thrive, and is dedicated to taking bipartisan action to ensure they’re adequately funded to care for generations to come.
Candace Valenzuela has dedicated her career to educating and fighting for hardworking Texas families. She isn’t afraid to stand up for residents of the 24th District. That’s why the UAW endorses Candace Valenzuela for Congress.
