She’s dedicated to ensuring all working families have access to quality health care they deserve by expanding medicaid. She supports sweeping changes that would allow Medicaid to negotiate prescription prices, so that those who need life-saving prescriptions can afford them.

As COVID-19 continues to negatively impact Illinois communities, Betsy has created a plan to get working families back on their feet. Her plan ensures that ongoing financial support is granted to families so that their basic needs are met, hazard pay continues to be allocated to those working on the frontlines, investments are made to small businesses and workforce development, and schools are supported. Her plan addresses inequities, ensuring all Illinois residents have an equal chance to rebuild their lives after the pandemic.

Betsy understands that many working families rely on the support of unions. She is an advocate for supporting Illinois workers as they organize. She’ll ensure that collective bargaining rights are protected, so that workers can negotiate better pay, benefits, and working conditions. She’ll also fight for increased access to trade schools, to help grow Illinois’s workforce.
