ELECTRIC VEHICLES ARE COMING.

DO YOU WANT A SAY IN WHO MAKES THEM?

Your elected Senator has a crucial vote coming on whether or not electric vehicles will be made in America by union workers. Too often tax credits meant to create good-paying American jobs have subsidized products made overseas or at substandard wages in non-unionized shops. The new Electric Vehicle Tax Credit would be a game-changer for union members assembling electric vehicles in the U.S.

WHAT IS THE ELECTRIC VEHICLE TAX CREDIT?

In the final draft of President Biden’s Build Back Better Act, there’s a new $4,500 tax credit that Americans who purchase any union-made electric vehicle manufactured in the United States can receive.

That means in total there would be up to $12,500 potentially available to EV buyers – a credit that could wipe out an entire federal tax bill for many Americans.

WHY DOES ELECTRIC VEHICLE PRODUCTION MATTER?

As countries across the globe transition to more sustainable ways of life, electric vehicle and battery production jobs will become more and more prevalent.

We must ensure that these jobs of the future provide the same middle class wages and benefits that built our modern economy, securing a future for American workers and their families.
