HE’S FIGHTING FOR AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE
Growing up, Eugene’s youngest brother was diagnosed with Muscular Dystrophy, causing him to be denied health care coverage due to his preexisting condition status. This experience shaped Eugene, and he’s been dedicated to fighting for health care reform ever since. He will fight to expand upon the Affordable Care Act, strengthening a public option for Americans. He also will advocate to automatically enroll individuals who are unable to afford a public option into Medicaid. As Auditor General, Eugene also fought to reduce the cost of prescription drugs, ensuring families weren’t at risk of going bankrupt over the cost of life-saving prescriptions, and is committed to continuing these efforts in Congress.

HE’S PROTECTING SOCIAL SECURITY AND MEDICARE
Eugene DePasquale is dedicated to protecting the Social Security and Medicare benefits promised to hardworking seniors when they retire. He will fight to oppose any attempts to gut or privatize Social Security, to ensure seniors can afford to retire with dignity. He will also ensure that Medicare has the ability to negotiate prescription drug prices, to keep the cost of life-saving prescription drugs affordable for seniors.

HE HAS A RECOVERY PLAN FOR COVID-19
As COVID-19 has devastated many communities around the country, Eugene has a plan to push forward. He will fight for policies that rebuild American communities by ensuring additional recovery funding and resources are extended to working families and businesses directly, not reserved to bail out large corporations and the wealthiest Americans. He will also fight to implement public health standards to efficiently manufacture and distribute a vaccine, and ensure we have adequate American-made PPE to prepare for future outbreaks.
