SHE’S TACKLING COVID-19 HEAD ON
Sharice has fought for Kansans during the COVID-19 crisis. She ensured that her district was informed with the most up to date information and resources by creating a compiled webpage and public email list. She backed imperative funding that provided residents of her district access to the testing, contract tracing, and supplies needed to combat the virus. She voted for the Families First Coronavirus Response Bill to help ensure that the basic needs of families, like food, emergency paid sick leave, and increased Medicaid coverage, were covered.

SHE’S FIGHTING FOR AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE
Sharice Davids has listened to residents in her district who have shared that health care affordability is their biggest concern. She’s fought to provide quality health care options to all, regardless of their circumstance. She voted to stop deceiving insurance plans that charged unaffordable premiums to individuals with pre-existing conditions. She fought to lower the cost of premiums and prescription drugs by holding drug companies accountable. She also introduced legislation that prevented surprise medical billing, relieving the burden on many Kansas families.

As a first-generation college student, ensuring residents in her district and beyond have access to quality education opportunities hits home for Sharice. She believes that every student deserves a quality public education, regardless of their zip code, and has fought to increase access and opportunities for K-12 students. She’s also been committed to removing barriers to higher education. She sponsored bills that fought to lower the cost of higher education, and protected students from hidden student loan debt fees.
