Carolyn Bourdeaux has lived in Suwanee, Georgia for many years. She has dedicated her career to supporting and educating Georgia families. She shares the values and grit UAW members bring to the job each day.
WHY VOTE BOURDEAUX FOR CONGRESS?
SHE’LL FIGHT FOR AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE
Carolyn experienced firsthand how crippling expensive health care and prescriptions can be for a family as her father suffered from a debilitating illness for years. She will fight to ensure no Georgia family has to risk financial hardship or poverty from a medical emergency. She’s dedicated to advocating for universal access to health care for all, even those with pre-existing conditions, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, and making sure patients are billed fairly for the health care they receive.
SHE’LL ADVOCATE FOR FAMILIES AFFECTED BY COVID-19
Carolyn has a plan to support Georgia families reeling from the COVID-19 pandemic. As the former Director of Georgia’s Senate Budget and Evaluation Office, she has the experience to fairly allocate the state’s budget, even under unthinkable circumstances like a recession. She’ll work to ensure that small businesses are supported, social safety nets like unemployment insurance are adequately funded, and quality health care options are readily available after COVID-19. She’ll also fight to increase the minimum wage in Georgia, so that working families have a chance at making a living wage after the pandemic.
SHE’LL INVEST IN PUBLIC EDUCATION
As the daughter of a public school teacher, and professor herself, Carolyn has been a lifelong advocate for public schools. She has a plan to invest in public schools in Georgia, so that all students get the quality education they deserve, no matter their zip code. She’ll fight to provide universal pre-k to give Georgia students and families a chance to get ahead. She’ll also work to make college more affordable, and will invest in job training programs that are essential to building Georgia’s economy.
Carolyn Bourdeaux has been an advocate for hardworking Georgia families her entire career. She’s not afraid to stand up for residents of the 7th District. That’s why the UAW endorses Carolyn Bourdeaux for Congress.
